Vintage 1920s Diamond China Crested Ware Miniature "Teapot" (Wolverhampton Crest)

£15.00

An absolute darling of a find for collectors of traditional British domestic curiosities. This vintage crested china miniature is a beautifully executed lidded teapot, proudly displaying the colorful and detailed historic heraldic coat of arms for the town of Wolverhampton, complete with its traditional cross, pillars, and castle cresting.

Produced in the heart of the historic Potteries district by Diamond China (J. H. Cope & Co.) at the Wellington Works in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. The base bears the clean, stamped interwar mark "ENGLISH MANUFACTURE" alongside an orange factory decorator symbol, dating this piece to the 1920s. Teapot shapes are uniquely satisfying because they double as both heraldic souvenirs and wonderful accents for miniature tea set collectors. It weighs 42g, its measurements are 4cm width, 8.5cm length, and 6.5cm height. In a very good vintage condition, no chips, no cracks, with the exception of a tiny chip at the top rim (as shown in the image and reflected in the price) which is not visible with the lid on.

While many crested miniatures are open vessels, finding a multi-part lidded piece like a teapot with its original top lid fully preserved is a true collector's victory. It makes an eye-catching cabinet addition for West Midlands local history buffs or fine miniature novelty collectors.Collectible, Collector's item.
