Vintage 1980s Signed F. Agostinho Portuguese Terracotta Bowl – Hand-Painted Alentejo Folk Art Ceramic (Pristine Condition)

£34.00

Bring the warmth and artistry of the Alentejo region to your home with this exceptional, hand-painted terracotta bowl. Personally handcrafted by the celebrated Portuguese master potter Feliciano Branco Agostinho at his workshop in Viana do Alentejo, this piece carries his authentic signature incised directly into the raw clay base. Crafted from the region's signature rich red clay, the bowl features a striking contrast between its rustic, unglazed exterior and a brilliantly glazed interior. The interior is adorned with traditional, fluid blue-and-white floral and geometric motifs, a design style that Agostinho himself pioneered in 1982, transforming functional regional earthenware into vibrant, collectible folk art. It weighs 148g, its measurements are 10.5cm diameter, and 5cm height. In excellent vintage condition, pristine glaze with no chips, structural cracks, or surface crazing. Beautiful as a standalone display piece, a historical addition to a studio pottery collection, or a unique dipping and tapas serving dish.
