Vintage Francis Wheatley "A New Love Song" Etched Gold Foil Metal Print, Framed Cries of London Reproduction)

£28.00

Add a touch of timeless British heritage to your collection with this beautifully preserved vintage metal print. This piece replicates Plate 11 from Francis Wheatley’s celebrated 18th-century Cries of London series, capturing an idealized transaction between a London ballad seller and a traveler.

Unlike standard paper reproductions, this artwork was manufactured by the specialized UK firm Studio Marketing Ltd using a unique metal screen-printing technique. The fine line work originally created as a copperplate stipple engraving by Anthony Cardon in 1796 is etched directly onto a thin metallic foil sheet. The result is a stunning reflective gold-and-silver sheen that shifts beautifully depending on how the light hits the room, giving the scene an incredible sense of texture and historical depth. It weighs 182g, its measurements are 16.5cm widt5h, 21.3cm height, and 0.8cm depth. In excellent vintage condition, the metallic surface is clean, displaying sharp line work with brilliant, glowing contrast. The reverse features the authentic, original manufacturer label from Studio Marketing Ltd intact on the composite hardboard backing. Comes fitted with a sturdy top ring hanger and is completely ready to display straight out of the box.

Perfect for collectors of unusual vintage metal prints, historic English country decor, or fine-art enthusiasts who appreciate unique mid-century manufacturing methods. Collectible, Collector's item.
