£48.00

Discover a striking piece of Canadian design history. This listing is for a beautiful, matching pair of vintage studio art pottery mugs produced by the highly collectible Huronia Pottery Ltd. in Meaford, Ontario, Canada, dating between the 1960s and mid-1970s.

Founded by Tom Hrcek, a master mold maker who previously worked at the iconic Blue Mountain Pottery. Huronia pieces are celebrated for their distinctive manipulation of clay forms and unique glazing methods. Finished in Huronia’s signature "reflow flame glaze" technique. A gorgeous, glossy sage/mint green base layer runs down the body, creating vertical, flame-like drip patterns contrasted by an iron-rich amber-brown rim glaze. Sculpted with altered, vertically fluted/pleated sides that give the mugs a highly organic, tactile feel and an incredibly ergonomic grip. It features a beautifully exposed terracotta red clay base, a hallmark of mid-century regional pottery from the Georgian Bay area. Both mugs feature the crisp, sought-after incised/stamped Huronia Pottery Ltd. maker's mark on the underside, complete with the stylized "HP" teepee logo. The pair weigh 576g, the measurement of each mug is 11cm width at its widest, 9cm depth, and 11cm height. In excellent vintage condition. Both mugs are incredibly well-preserved, displaying vibrant gloss glazes, clean edges, and no chips, cracks, or heavy crazing.

Perfect as a unique functional pairing for your morning coffee or as a standout addition to a curated Mid-Century Modern or Canadiana art pottery collection! Collectible, Collector's item.
