A lovely vintage c 1946 Kirkham Mug / Tankard "King's Head Chigwell". The description of the pub reads "With its many legends and Tudor associations was renamed the Maypole by the famed Dickens in Barnaby Rudge. Queen Elizabeth often stayed the night here while on hunting expeditions. Built in the reign of Henry VIII". It weighs 0.4 kg. Its size is 9 cm H, by 8.5 cm in Diameter at the top. It is in a good condition considering its age, with some grazes on one side of the rim and on the same side a tiny hairline crack on the inside rim which does not show at all from outside. Collectable. Collectors' Item.
