Antique 1920s Art Deco German Porcelain Bathing Beauty Salt and Pepper Shaker Figurine - Rare Nude Novelty, Stamped "Foreign"
£88.00
Up for sale is a genuine antique ceramic "Bathing Beauty" novelty figurine, dating back to the Art Deco era of the 1920s or 1930s. These risque, playful figurines were incredibly popular seaside souvenirs, carnival prizes, and bar room novelties during the early 20th century. While many bathing beauties from this era feature molded swimsuits, this rarer variant is a fully nude, lounging pin-up style figure with excellent character and charm. Clearly impressed with the authentic vintage "FOREIGN" stamp on the unglazed base, a hallmark used by German manufacturers in the post-WWI era. Features original factory firing holes. It weighs 82g, its measurements are 17cm length, 6cm width, and 6cm height. In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The colors remain bright and clear. (Please review photos carefully for full cosmetic condition).
A fantastic, highly collectible addition to your Art Deco / Salt & Pepper Shaker / Novelty Figurines collection, boudoir display, or antique doll cabinet! Collectible, Collector's item.
