This is one of a set of three prints depicting vendors, or "hucksters", at the turn of the century in Barbados. The subjects featured are an old lady selling yams, a girl selling bananas and a boy selling pottery. Although women vendors are still a common sight in Barbados today, child labour has been abolished for over thirty years. Drawn and painted by Barbadia artist Patrick Hoyos, the original artwork was inspired by old photographs of the era. It weighs 1.2 kg.
